Shanghai is the largest city in China. It has a total population of 23 million. Due to its rapid development over the last two decades, it has again become a leading global city with significant influence in commerce, culture, finance, media, fashion, technology and transport. Shanghai is now a major financial centre and the busiest Container Port in the world.
Once a small fishing port, Shanghai became the hub of multinational finance and business in 1930. It was later declined following the Communist Party took over mainland China in 1949. In 1990, Deng Xiaoping declared his economic reforms and “Open Door” policy, Shanghai has re-gained its influence and glory to become a vibrant city.
Today, Shanghai is again one of the most prosperous cities in the world. Its cosmopolitan character, sophisticated and affluent consumers, and highly educated skilled labour force make it highly attractive to the overseas investors.
While in ShanghaiI visited the Bund (上海灘),City God Temple(or Chenghuang Miao城隍廟),Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and Yuyuan Garden(豫園).
